The Beast Awakens

The Official Werwulf Wall Sculpture

There is something ancient and unspoken creeping out from the shadows of folklore into the modern home. Here at The Blackened Teeth, our love for dark history, gothic architecture, and Victorian macabre is no secret. But every so often, a collaboration comes along that taps directly into the creative hearts of our business.

We have officially joined forces with Focus Features for Robert Eggers’ upcoming cinematic masterpiece: WERWULF.

Set in thirteenth-century England, where fog hangs low over the forest and local superstitions cease to be mere stories, WERWULF is a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation, and the beast within. To honour this cinematic event starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, and Lily-Rose Depp, we have crafted something truly special to mark the occasion.

Behind the Scenes Building the Forest Altar

To truly do justice to Robert Eggers’ dark vision, standard studio lighting just wasn’t going to cut it. We knew we wanted to pay homage to the film and its atmospheric aesthetic as much as possible, so we built our own scene right here on a friend's land in the Welsh Valleys, bringing raw elements, moody landscapes, and Welsh folklore together.

When creating imagery for a piece inspired by medieval horror, stepping out into the damp, moss-covered wilderness is essential. We constructed a ritual site deep beneath the trees using raw earth, fallen timber, and our own handcrafted skulls to build a brooding forest altar that felt at home for Eggers' haunting world.

Abandoning artificial studio rigs, we relied on rolling fog, flickering candlelight, and low dusk lighting to mirror the visceral, fire-lit dread of the movie screen. South Wales has its own deep relationship with ancient forests, wild hills, and local lore, so bringing Robert Eggers’ haunting world out of 13th-century folklore and into our Welsh workshop has been pure dark magic, bridging our home landscape directly with the film’s medieval atmosphere.

The Werwulf Sculpture

Devised, sculpted, and hand-finished right here in Britain by our skilled artisans who are well learned in their craft, The Werwulf Wall Sculpture is a heavy-duty homage to gothic dread.

Mounted upon an ornate black shield branded with the official WERWULF logo, the sculpture features a haunting wolf's head cast in hand resin and finished by hand, arriving in a Limited Edition branded box with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.

There is a catch and thrill for true collectors of horror and macabre objects: none shall know the wolf’s colourway or full identity until after the movie releases in theatres. The wolf’s identity is not ours to reveal, it lays with the film creators themselves.

We cannot wait for the final reveal on the 26th of December.
